Top 50 Mother – Groom Dance Songs

Last week, thanks to a service I subscribe to,  I shared the Top 50 father and daughter dance songs.  This week, I’d like to pass along a list of songs that should prove very useful for a son looking to find the perfect song to share a dance with their mother.

When I first started my DJ business, the mother/groom list was very, very short.  At some point, a musician stumbled on the success of writing a song just for fathers and daughters and other talented musicians followed.  Somehow, it seemed to me that mothers and sons were forgotten.   This made it very challenging to find a song without romantic overtones or simply finding something different. For awhile it seemed everyone was using the same three or four songs for the occasion.  Over time, the list grew with a few specific songs crafted just for such a dance.

The following list is quite impressive and may even give you inspiration to discover a similar song that works for you — just be sure to check the lyrics word-for-word if you venture into songs that aren’t listed below.  Sometimes the song title or meaning can be deceiving. Better to know before your DJ plays a song in front of all your guests that misses the mark.  Who knows,  maybe you’ll be inspired to write your own tribute to sons and mothers everywhere!
